Chemical castration in Argentina for rapists?

Chemical castration of rapists seems a good way to prevent them from re-offending. But, if the 'treatment' is reversible by simply not taking the medicine anymore, and if taking the treatment get the rapist a light sentence, is it fair that the victim still has to carry his child if he makes her pregnant in the attack?

It was announced by officials in Argentina’s Mendoza province on the 21^st of March, 2010, that chemical castration has been authorized for rapists convicted in the province. The move came after what the authorities called, a “significant rise” in the number of sexual assaults last year. Read more
