Barack Obama warmly received by Afghan president
Argentina News.Net Sunday 20th July, 2008
US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has met Afghan President Hamid Karzai and promised him long-term support for the war-ravaged country.
Senator Obama and two other senators held two hours of talks with President Hamid Karzai at his palace in Kabul on Sunday
The Democratic presidential contender who criticized the Afghan government only weeks ago, has promised additional troops to Afghanistan to bolster war on terror if he comes to power.
Obama said he and his colleagues had also spoken to military and diplomatic leaders about whether the US has the right strategy and resources to defeat the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
Karzai and Obama exchanged views on ways to boost economic relations between Afghanistan and the US and on rebuilding of the country.
The Afghan presidency said Obama's message was positive.
A spokesman for President Karzai said Senator Obama had conveyed that he is a friend of Afghanistan and "no matter who wins the US elections, Afghanistan will have a very strong partner in the United States."
The three U.S. senators traveled later Sunday to Kuwait City, where they met with Kuwait's emir, Sheik Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, and other senior officials.
Obama's itinerary also includes Iraq as his next stop, Jordan, Israel and Germany.

It is easy to say than down.I do not think Mr Obama will be an excellent commander in chief of the nation armed forces because he do not have any experience as a military person how soldiers and sailors experience. He most likely to disband the armed forces into small unit that we will become as second rate forces of the world. He will put in all the support in social wonder of the country
