RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Fluminense has completed the signing of Argentine striker German Cano, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Thursday.
The 34-year-old joins the Rio de Janeiro outfit on a free transfer after parting ways with local rivals Vasco da Gama in December. He will be tied to the Tricolor Carioca until December 2023.
"I'm very happy to join a club like Fluminense, a very big team in Brazil and around the world. I hope to achieve very important things this year and live up to expectations," Cano said in comments published on Fluminense's official website.
Cano scored 43 goals in 101 games across all competitions for Vasco following his arrival from Independiente Medellin in January 2020.
He is expected to make his debut for the four-time Brazilian top-flight champions in the Rio de Janeiro state league later this month.
