SANTIAGO, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's Eduardo Berizzo has been appointed manager of the Chile national football team, the local football federation said on Thursday.
The 52-year-old replaces Martin Lasarte, who was sacked in April following the Roja's failure to qualify for this year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Local media reported that Berizzo agreed to a contract that runs until late 2025.
Berizzo has been out of work since being sacked as Paraguay boss last October.
He previously worked as an assistant manager for Chile under Marcelo Bielsa from 2007 to 2010.
