BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- South American giants Boca Juniors are set to sign Uruguayan forward Miguel Merentiel for Argentina's 2023 domestic season.
The 26-year-old arrived in Argentina on Wednesday morning and was later photographed attending a medical clinic alongside Boca staff for routine exams.
He is expected to agree to a one-year loan from Palmeiras, with whom he has a contract that runs until June 2026.
Merentiel made just 11 appearances and scored two goals after joining the Brazilian club from Defensa y Justicia last July.
Boca began their 2023 campaign with a 1-0 home victory over Atletico Tucuman in the opening game of Argentina's top-flight season on Sunday.
