BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Boca Juniors missed the chance to stay in touch with group leaders Racing Club as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Lanus in Argentina's Primera Division on Saturday.

Lucas Janson gave the hosts the lead when he headed home after Valentin Barco's cross just after the half-hour mark.

Lanus equalized early in the second half through Leandro Diaz, who combined with Pedro de la Vega before finishing coolly from 12 yards.

The result leaves Boca seventh in Group B with just two wins from six games so far while Lanus are 13th, four points further back.

In other fixtures on Saturday, Central Cordoba won 2-1 at home to Defensa y Justicia, Huracan swept to a 3-0 home victory over Velez Sarsfield, and Gimnasia edged to a 2-1 home win over Rosario Central.
