GLOBALink | From Andes to Himalayas: A football connection across continents

Recently, with support from an aid organization from Shanghai, a youth football team from Salta Province in Argentina traveled to Xigaze City, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, for a cross-cultural friendly match with local Tibetan teenagers.

Coming from regions over 3,000 meters above sea level, the South American and Tibetan youths immediately connected. Despite language barriers and cultural differences, their shared passion for football broke the ice in no time. During breaks, the players communicated through football terms, body language, and friendly smiles. Football became a bridge linking two high-altitude cultures.
