BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Argentine Senate on Friday passed the 2026 Budget, which projects 10.1 percent annual inflation and 5 percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth for that year.

The Senate passed the budget into law with 46 votes in favor, 25 against, and one abstention in the general vote, which marked the first budget bill approved by the legislative body since Argentine President Javier Milei took office at the end of 2023.

The budget also projected total expenditures of 148 trillion Argentine pesos (about 102 billion U.S. dollars) in 2026.

In a televised speech on the 2026 budget on Sept. 15, Milei said that he would not revise economic policies and emphasized the need to achieve fiscal balance.
