JERUSALEM, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Israeli Premier League club Beitar Jerusalem announced on Tuesday that striker Efmamjjasond Gonzalez has signed on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old Colombian most recently played for Shijiazhuang Gongfu, helping the club finish fifth in China's second-tier League One last season, which concluded in November. He made 12 appearances for Shijiazhuang, scoring five goals and providing two assists.

Gonzalez has also played for Argentina's All Boys and San Miguel, Real Santa Cruz and Always Ready of Bolivia, and South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs.

Reigning Bolivian champion Always Ready loaned him to Gongfu and has now sent him on loan to Beitar.

The Jerusalem-based side has not won the Israeli league since 2008. After 18 of 36 matches so far this season, Beitar sits second in the table with 42 points, level with leaders Hapoel Beer Sheva.

"I've heard a lot about Beitar Jerusalem, the amazing crowd, and the current situation of the club in the league," Gonzalez said. "I'm happy to come and be part of this team."
