WELLINGTON, March 3 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand and Argentina have agreed to deepen cooperation to boost business, education and people-to-people links, a New Zealand government statement said Tuesday.

The statement was released after New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters met with Argentine President Javier Milei while leading a parliamentary and business delegation through Latin America.

Peters said the discussions highlighted shared efforts by both countries to make their economies more efficient "in order to deliver more jobs and higher living standards through export growth."

The discussions "demonstrated our growing business, education and people-to-people links with Argentina, while stressing our joint commitment to open, rules-based trade," the statement quoted Peters as saying.

The parliamentary and business delegation visited Argentina's National Congress, and held talks with its New Zealand Parliamentary Friendship Group.
