BUENOS AIRES, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Racing left-back Gabriel Rojas has been ruled out of his team's clash with Independiente on Saturday after suffering a hamstring tear while on international duty with Argentina.

Rojas sustained the injury while making his debut for Argentina in a 2-1 friendly win over Mauritania in Buenos Aires on Friday. The 28-year-old is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks.

"Gabriel Rojas has suffered a tear in the long head of the right biceps femoris," Racing said in a social media post on Wednesday.

"The player rejoined squad training this morning after his participation in Argentina's friendlies but did not take part in any activity, and around midday underwent tests that produced the aforementioned diagnosis."

Racing is currently fifth in Argentina's Apertura Group B standings with 18 points, five behind leader Independiente Rivadavia.
